SUMMARY:ComSciCon-NY 2019
DESCRIPTION:ComSciCon-NY is a science communication workshop engaging attendees with science communication experts. STEM graduate students and post-doctoral researchers from universities based in New York (e.g. Cornell\, Binghamton\, Syracuse\, Rochester\, etc.) are invited to apply. \nThis year’s theme is: Public Engagement\nThe event takes place August 2nd and 3rd in Ithaca\, NY Participation is by application only (deadline June 14)\nLearn more about ComSciCon-NY. \nKeynote Speaker: Dr. Maryam Zaringhalam\, Science & Technology Policy Fellow at The National Institutes of Health \nPanel Sessions and workshops on: \n\nStorytelling\, science & technology policy\nPodcasts\, outreach & social media\nCitizen science & engaged scholarship\n\nInteractive sessions with expert panelists and professional communicators \nNetworking opportunities with peers passionate about science communication \nHands-on training to practice and perfect communication skills \nAs part of a national organization\, ComSciCon attendees have founded new science communication organizations in collaboration with other students events\, published over 80 articles written at the conferences in popular publications with national impact\, and formed lasting networks with student alumni and invited experts. \nQuestions?
