SUMMARY:Practical Steps for the Post-Academic Job Search: a workshop with Dr. Christopher Caterine
DESCRIPTION:You may have heard that a PhD prepares you for anything and that a perfect job awaits you outside the academy. But how do you find suitable roles and convince others that you’re the right person to fill them? This workshop will lead you through the practical steps of identifying your strengths\, using information interviews to explore new careers\, and translating your experience for non-academic employers. You will leave the session with the skills to continue exploring diverse professional paths and a checklist of actions to keep momentum going over the coming months. \nThe CNY Humanities Corridor “Humanities Beyond the Academy” working group hosts a series of mini-residencies for publicly engaged humanistic scholars\, bringing together those interested in public humanities and careers outside the academy. The CNY Humanities Corridor group is comprised of Cornell University\, Syracuse University and University of Rochester.  \nRegister here for this virtual workshop
