DESCRIPTION:Recently\, there has been a surge in start-up spinoffs from academic institutions\, creating opportunities for PhD and postdoc fellows to take their research into the commercial space. This rise of start-ups requires individuals to play multiple roles such as creating the organization (i.e. identifying the employee structure)\, managing a lab\, fundraising\, communicating the mission to diverse audiences\, creating short-term strategies to meet the long-term goals\, and more. \nBrought to you by the NY Academy of Sciences \nTo learn about these\, join us for the next in our Career Path Series: Start-Ups on November 9 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM EST.
