DESCRIPTION:We’ll start with a short overview presentation with pro tips on how to use LinkedIn\, some exercises to identify a good tagline\, and a very interactive session where participants work on their own profiles and critique others’ –so you will need to bring your own computer. We plan to send out some handy tips to registrants prior to the event if people want to get even more out of the hands-on session.  \nDue to the interactive nature of the workshop\, we will limit the number to 10-12. DESCRIPTION:Do you ever feel like you’re interested in science policy but can’t make the time to read and think about these topics\, aren’t sure how to take action\, or lack a venue to discuss these issues with peers? Come join us for the ASAP social/discussion group\, the second Thursday of each month! This is a time to connect with others interested in science policy\, share your ideas on what you’ve been reading\, maybe even work on an op-ed or white paper and get feedback from the group. Come armed with your own questions which will be discussed throughout the session. \nConfirmed speakers: \nBailey Cooper PhD’16\, Ebrahim Nemati\, and alumnus Kent Goklen\nBailey Cooper is a Scientist at Regeneron\, having transitioned after several years as a faculty member at Virginia Tech. She earned her PhD in 2016 from Cornell in biomedical engineering with David Putnam. \nEbrahim Nemati is Senior Research Scientist at Samsung Research America where he interned in their Digital Health Lab as a graduate student. He earned his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from UCLA in 2017. \nKent Göklen is GSK’s Director of Downstream Process Development\, in the biopharmaceutical business unit of GlaxoSmithKline in King of Prussia\, PA. How and why is this happening\, and why are we\, the engineers\, so uniquely positioned to influence and participate in this multi trillion dollar global energy transformation. \nAndreas Mustad is the co-founder of Nexwell Holdings\, a company dedicated to the structuring\, promotion and investment in business opportunities in the renewable sector which have a measurable impact on reducing climate change risk. Nexwell promotes these initiatives and makes these investments by guiding and partnering its portfolio companies with like-minded infrastructure investors\, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs. Prior to Nexwell\, Andreas founded and ran Sonnedix Global Holdings as its CEO from startup to a $4 billion global solar power generation company over a 9 year period. His successful career spans more than 20 years in the energy and industrial sectors\, with experience ranging from global executive leadership positions with accountability for all aspects of running a business\, including strategy\, performance\, development\, staffing and execution\, to earlier roles in M&A and turn-around management. \nAndreas graduated as a structural engineer from Cornell University’s School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and has an MBA from IESE Business School in Spain.
