DESCRIPTION:Come learn about BD’s Technology Leadership Development Program \, one of the premier career-accelerating opportunities in the med tech industry\, along with insider interview & resume tips that will give you a leg up for your transition to industry. \n\nWHEN: Feb 28 @ 2 ET\, March 8 @ 5 ET\, or March 16 @ 7 ET\nWHERE: Teams Video Call (link to follow from RSVP)\nRSVP: here (you will register here and receive a link to register for a specific date within 24 hours)\n\nThe TLDP vision is to develop future leaders of BD’s R&D organization. \n\nThe program consists of three successively more challenging assignments (~18 months each) that span multiple businesses and / or locations within BD.\nA personalized and dynamic career path is sculpted for each TLDP associate with the influence of senior R&D leaders and your personal skills and interests.\n\nProgram Qualifications: \n\nOutstanding Ph.D. graduates with significant leadership experience and technical depth in engineering\, life sciences\, or natural sciences fields:\n\nMechanical engineering\, biomedical engineering\, electrical engineering\, computer science\, chemical engineering\, materials science\, chemistry\, biology\, and related fields\n\n\nEarly-stage career (less than 3 years of industry or postdoc experience outside the pursuit of a degree)\nWillingness and ability to relocate to different geographic locations\nTo qualify for this position\, you must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction to duration.\n\nPostdocs and PhD students at all stages are welcome.  Application closes March 20th at 11:59 PM PST for the 2023 spring cycle.

DESCRIPTION:Today we’ll cover the essentials of intellectual property for startups. Led by Frank DeCosta and Phillip Owh\, the presentation will include IP dos and don’ts\, patent filing\, and tips on how to leverage Cornell’s Center for Technology Licensing (CTL).\nDeCosta is a widely regarded expert in patent litigation and a partner at Finnegan Henderson\, a full-service IP firm where he leads the firm’s litigation section with experience in patent litigation\, software\, and client counseling. Owh serves as the Director of Business Development & Licensing for Life Sciences at CTL\, where he draws on his background in biochemistry to manage a portfolio of inventions that span the life sciences spectrum from agriculture to health. \nThe session will conclude with information about the Commercialization Fellowship\, an opportunity for Cornell Engineering Ph.D. candidates to take a deep dive into the commercialization process and potential real-world applications of university inventions. \nRSVP for the 3/3/ workshop \nHosted by\nThe SC Johnson College of Business\, College of Engineering\, and the Center for Technology Licensing (CTL)
