Applications for the 2023 Interstellar Initiative are open through Tuesday, May 22, 2023.

Presented by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) and the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS), this prestigious program takes place in New York City this fall, from September 13-15th. Selected scientists will participate in the 3-day in-person workshop, with travel expenses covered by AMED.

The Interstellar Initiative builds international and interdisciplinary research collaborations between Early Career Investigators (ECIs) with the end goal of addressing challenges in basic science. Guided by mentors and supported by modest funding from AMED, teams will be established to develop proposals for international funding agencies.
