Sustainable Event Certification

Take action with your student organization or departmental events to help Cornell’s campus become as sustainable as possible.

This campus Sustainable Event Certification allows organizers to certify any campus event by choosing sustainable options in waste, food and materials.

How do I do it?  Easy. Use the link at the very bottom of this message to set up a free 30-minute consultation with the Campus Sustainability Office. The team will walk you through options for making your event more sustainable, then automatically certify your event if you choose at least two actions in each category.

If your event is already ready to certify, just fill out the form to get a badge. Go for platinum by taking ten or more actions from any category including purchasing, event marketing, location and transportation in addition to food & beverage and waste.

Sustainability at Cornell

The campus reusable mug program has returned with 10% discounts at Cornell Dining locations, and there is improved waste signage across campus residential spaces. Cornell has also recently received a STARS Platinum rating for the third year in a row by the Association for the Advancement for Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE).
