Innovation & Entrepreneurship Workshop: Launching Your Startup

Ready to launch a startup around your innovative idea? Designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge they need to get a business up and running, this workshop will cover:

  • Corporate legal fundamentals
  • Company formation
  • Assignment of invention
  • Vesting agreements and equity allocation
  • Building and managing boards of directors or advisors
  • What it means to be a CEO

Learn from the experts about what it takes to found a company. Ken Rother, director of Rev: Ithaca Startup Works and eLab, will lead the workshop, which will feature a presentation from Seth Helfgott ’05, a corporate startup attorney and partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

This workshop is part of a virtual series presented in partnership with the Center for Regional Economic Advancement, a division of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. The series welcomes faculty, post-docs, graduate, and undergraduate students to explore the potential of launching a business grounded in their research and vision. Entrepreneurs are not required to attend every workshop, but the series is designed to explore the entrepreneurial journey from ideation to operation.
