International Student/Postdoc Job Search Discussion
June 22, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
- This event has passed.
Let’s face it, finding a job can be a difficult process that is often full of stress. Add that we are in the midst of a pandemic with many uncertainties, and you may be experiencing even greater stress and worry. Not to mention all the immigration related questions (visa status, OPT, CPT, etc.) regarding your job search as an international student or postdoc that you may have.
The International Student/Postdoc Job Search Virtual Monthly Chat is designed to unite international students and postdocs who are seeking jobs to talk about concerns that all share, and strategize about how to move forward. We will begin the session with a brief introduction of all the career and immigration staff presenting and hear tips from them regarding job search and immigration. After this information is shared, it will open up for all participants to ask questions for a facilitated discussion. Colleen McLinn from Future Faculty and Academic Careers will also share expertise for people who would like to explore a career in academia.
Come join our group of experts to see what strategies and recommendations they have, along with hearing questions from your peers.
Our experts in careers and/or immigration include:
- Christine Holmes, Director of Postdoctoral Studies
- Caleb Yu, Graduate and International Student Career Advisor
- Denise DiRienzo, Experiential Program Director for Careers Beyond Academia
