Workshop: Ethnographic and Semiotic Approaches in Consulting

Emily Levitt (PhD 2018 Cornell, Anthropology) made the transition from academia to commercial consulting. In this workshop, she’ll provide an overview of how ethnography and other methods from the humanities are used today in commercial consulting, using case studies from her own career as examples. In addition, she’ll discuss some of the pitfalls and difficulties of going from academia to consulting, and how to prepare for them.

1:00pm – 4:30pm at AD White House, room 109

Bring a laptop and writing materials to participate in some interactive exercises that will dive into these techniques.
