Are you looking for a career that interfaces science, scientific writing, promotion, and public relations? Public Relations is a great opportunity to work with individuals across a range of industry and provide communication strategies to effectively communicate services and products.

The rise in diagnostics, drugs, therapeutics, vaccines, and medical technologies means a greater need for individuals who need to work in the intersection of science, communication, and the healthcare industry. In this webinar, you will learn the roles played by a science PR professional and the skills a graduate or postdoctoral fellow needs to be successful in this field.

Brought to you by the NY Academy of Sciences

To learn about these, join the next Career Path Series on February 16 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM EST. This session, like all of the Career Path series, is FREE to Academy members. Cornell membership is accessible to all grad students and postdocs. (Free memberships for Cornell graduate students and postdocs.)

During this panel you will hear about:

  • Opportunities for individuals to understand how to transition into the role of Public Relations.
  • What kind of “side-hustles” should one pursue to gain more knowledge and position yourself as a suitable candidate?
  • What are the challenges to consider when pursuing a career in Public Relations?

REGISTER

The event will be followed by a virtual networking opportunity with the panelists at 6:30 PM.

If you have specific questions you would like the panelists to address during the discussion – please email siyer@nyas.org to incorporate them into this conversation.
